Clockmaker John Harrison Vindicated After 250 Years

Harrison: "I'm going to build a clock, OK?  And it's going to be a great one. It'll be a beautiful clock."

Britain: "You're just a carpenter."

Harrison:  "It'll be the best clock.  It'll be so accurate, OK?  So accurate."

Britain:  "He's an incoherence and absurdity ... a little short of the symptoms of insanity".

Harrison:  "I am building that clock, and nobody makes better clocks than me, believe me!"

Britain:  "And your book is one of the most unaccountable productions we have ever met with."

Harrison: "So sad."
